Do you feel like you are constantly trying to keep so many plates spinning, that you can’t possibly consider adding anything else to your life? The idea of doing a craft, when you have a family to look after, a job to do, the housework to keep on top of, garden to maintain etc etc, the list goes on, seems a ridiculous idea.

It’s tough. You see peoples feeds of a perfect home and garden, skills that you are in awe of, holidays that are adventurous and relaxing and cater for everyone, games with the kids… and you can’t possibly imagine getting any of those! Well, join with everyone else. That is not real.

I have really struggled with this. Constantly comparing myself to everyone, wanting to do everything and then feeling all a bit rubbish. Here’s my advise; give yourselves a break, think what is achievable and get on top of that. Small things, done regularly, to keep those plates spinning and give yourself some time too (it is not just a dream). Of course, you have to ask for help if you need it (not my strongest ability to be honest!), and know when to stop. Also, accept that what you see on social media is not the full story! It is one shot; set up to look it’s best.

To this end, I have started to create a planner, month by month, of what I need to do to get some balance and keep those plates spinning. For the garden, just a few things a week will keep it looking ok (update to what you need to do). For the house, bite size (and get those kids to help if you can!) through the week will stop it being a mammoth task on a Saturday when you are also feeling guilty about not spending time with the family.

Amend as you see fit and I would love to hear your feedback 🙂
