We don’t have to be perfect!
I can’t have a perfect garden, perfect house, organised kids, diy success, run a business, create gorgeous recipes, bake beautiful cakes, sew dolls clothes and teddies, upcycle furniture, create fabulous craft and education ideas for the kids, and still ensure I look after the family (and myself, which we shouldn’t underestimate the need for!) and ensure the family are still sane… oh, and go to work (!)…. but I will try a bit of everything, because I can. Try, that is… not necessarily succeed.
The priorities are: look after my family; keep them safe, ready for school, clean, fed etc. Everything else is, ‘let’s give it a go’.
The result, my blog, is ‘giving it a go’. I’m showing you my ‘Jack of all trades’ life as a working mum, lover of gardening (avid watcher of Gardeners world!), diy (Money for Nothing addict), craft, cooking, baking, playing with the kids, and trying my hand at all sorts of crafts. I trained in Upholstery, but I’m no expert. I love furniture, but again, not an expert. I’m good with numbers (it’s in my genes), I love words, and am crafty (crafty, not ‘crafty’ :-)). I am no artist though – that’s one trade I can rule myself out of!
So, welcome. I hope you enjoy my blog, laugh a lot (mostly at me, but also at yourself as that’s part of the fun!) and have confidence that it’s ok to give things a go in whatever time you can spare. It may not work out quite like the videos you see from others, but that’s ok. Just try something and enjoy it!
