Whispers in Red Velvet: a luxurious dotted Mandala Stone Craft a Life with Seravida Art
Read Time:1 Minute, 26 Second

Create this luxurious red velvet mandala stone with me below.

This is a gorgeous colour from Deco Art which I absolutely love! Up there with my favourites, but there are so many to be honest, it is always hard to choose. The pinks and gold work beautifully with the red velvet to create a luxurious feel.

Materials

Method

This mandala stone is made with a mould from The Happy Dotting company and Herculite 2 plaster. I wont go into the details on how to do this within this post, but keep an eye out for a post particularly on this, but for now follow the manufacturers instructions. My main advise though is to be prepared and work quickly and without interruptions!

The basecoat of this design is Red Velvet from Decoart Acrylic paints. I did need 4 coats of this, sanded in between will give you a really good base to work from. Because the base is dark, you can use a white, pink or blue chalk pencils for the guidelines.

A 6 /12 section guidelines was used for this design, which has quite a lot of space in it to emphasise that gorgeous background colour.

Seal with the Decoart matt varnish to protect it from the elements. Although this dries quickly, I recommend leaving for an hour between each coat. Put 2-3 coats on depending on where your item will be situated.
