A 70cm diameter blue mandala painted using the Masterclass #5 from Love and Dots!
This is less of a blog on the craft and more of an example of my work. I loved every minute of painting this large mandala in blues and silver.
Materials
Ply with an MDF back is cut to a circle 70cm in diameter and after a thorough sand, was painted with Valspar furniture paint from B and Q. 4 coats with sanding in between gave it a nice smooth surface. The final top coat was also given a fine sand to reduce the sheen and improve both the flatness and the adherence of the acrylic paint dotting.
With a large compass and white chalk, the guidelines were completed and step by step the rings of swooshes and dots took shape, following the amazing guidance of Lauren at Love and Dots!
